Electric Drives and Controls - Product Catalog

NYCe 4000 - Architecture

Control system architecture
Basically, a machine control system consists out of an industrial PC and 1 or more motion control systems (called node). The PC is running standard Windows XP as operating system without the need for any specific extensions. Furthermore the PC needs an IEE1394 interface (FireWire) for communication with the motion control systems. On the PC the User Interface is running as well as (part of) the application controlling the machine. Since there are no specific requirements to the PC, any PC running Windows XP and having an IEEE1394 port can be used. This gives maximum freedom in selecting the optimal PC. On the motion control systems, the real-time part of the application can be running and all motion control functionality is implemented. The motion control systems have integrated digital and analog I/O and integrated drive units supporting various motor types. Various standard motion control system configurations are available supporting different number of drive units.
