Rexroth Solar Team Uses Global Service and Development Resources
Bosch Rexroth is continuing to press ahead with the focus on tailor-made automation solutions for the solar industry: In a strong team, specialists combine application expertise on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drive technology. The team supports machine manufacturers and users with comprehensive automation advice and innovative solutions for drive and control technology. The specialists have direct access to the international development capacity at Rexroth.
Here the experts draw on the comprehensive automation range from Rexroth, which already comprises a whole host of products and solutions specially developed for use in the solar industry. The possibility to combine pneumatic and electro-mechanical actuators with form-locking fixing technology increases the flexibility of tailor-made handling solutions for all production steps. In terms of controls, Bosch Rexroth combines PLC, motion and robotic functions in a single hardware system while consistently using open interfaces and applying programming standards such as the IEC 61131. This enables the economic standardization of global production associations where automation is concerned — even when the system is used in combination with architectures that differ by region.
Solutions optimized for energy efficiency cut production costs for solar modules on a permanent basis. Innovative products and requirement regulations are alone responsible or reducing energy consumption by up to 55% in the pneumatics sector. The continuous reuse of braking energy and the reduction in weight of linear technology has also lowered the power requirements of electrical drive technology to the same degree. Careful handling of movement patterns and contact-free grippers optimized for solar cells protects the cells against damage. Large and sensitive solar modules are transported on the Rexroth TS 2pv transfer system. A further contribution toward increasing productivity are the drive internal safety functions, which reduce the amount of time spent restarting the machines after manual intervention and thus significantly increase the availability of production lines.
