Modular system simplifies the construction and joint pressure supply reduces energy consumption by up to 88 percent

Rexroth is changing the state-of-the-art in the cooling lubricant supply with two essential innovations: With the new RSU supply system for cooling lubricants, Rexroth opens up all advantages of a modular system for the low- and high-pressure supply. The new concept on the basis of standardized assemblies reduces the energy need and shortens the assembly times considerably. With the innovative KST booster, Rexroth moves the high-pressure generation into the hydraulic unit when internally cooled tools are used. Thus, the complete motor-pump supply line on the cooling lubricant side is omitted while the energy consumption is simultaneously reduced by up to 88 percent.

The Rexroth rapidstar Supply Unit (RSU) for cooling lubricants by Rexroth comprises a broad range of low- and high-pressure valve blocks, filters and screw pumps for the tailor-made pressure supply in remote systems. By using complete valve blocks, the supply system reduces the necessary piping need and simplifies the mechanical setup. This leads to very compact dimensions and a higher degree of freedom regarding the placing at the machine. The modular design opens up extensive possibilities for the fast implementation of customer-specific requirements. Rexroth supplies the cooling lubricant supply as function-tested system solution with defined mechanical and electrical interfaces as well as a PLC.

Considerable increase in the energy efficiency
With the KST booster, the hydraulic expert breaks completely new ground for the economic and energy-efficient cooling lubricant supply of internally cooled tools. The hydraulic unit that is available in the machine anyways can be connected and deactivated depending on the process and using an additional linear pump, it generates the necessary pressure of up to 120 bar with a flow of up to 50 l/min. Thanks to this solution, a complete motor-pump supply line is omitted and the energy consumption of the cooling lubricant supply is reduced by up to 88 percent. Apart from that, Rexroth extends the service life of the supply unit by moving all open-loop and closed-loop control functions into the particle-free hydraulic circuit. Thus, about 90 percent of the applications can do without the cooling lubricant fine filter that has been necessary up to now and thus, the operating costs can be further reduced. The KST booster, that can also be retrofitted, reduces the average noise emission considerably and thus satisfies another important requirement of users.
