The presentation of the Food Processing Awards, now in their 27th year, was held on the evening of the Appetite for Engineering conference at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire on 27th April.

The Awards ceremony formed part of the Appetite for Engineering Event, which over the past three years has taken the industry by storm.

As headline sponsors of this event Rexroth used this opportunity to present its whole automation offering as well as network with key decision makers in the food processing industry.

An overwhelming number of online votes for Bosch Rexroth in the Company of the Year category of the Food Processing's Awards, meant the firm was the toast of the night. The nomination was for our Automation Strategy and approach to market.

A beaming Bosch Rexroth team, including MD Paul Cooke, marketing executive Roger Benton and industry sector managers Andy Barker and Steve Morris, among others, couldn't quite seem to believe they'd done it - but there was no doubt that the company, which scooped the Company of the Year award, was a convincing winner.

"We were genuinely surprised," said Roger Benton. "I was doing all sorts of calculations in my head about whether we'd achieved the majority of votes just before it was announced we'd won."

We would like to thank all those involved for their hard work throughout 2009 and in the build up to this event.
