Wind Energy
Main Gearboxes

|
The main gearbox REDULUS GPV converts the slow rotor speed into high-speed at the input into the generator. Rexroth supplies gearboxes suitable to the needs of the specific wind turbine.

The advantage:

A tailor-made solution with compact design and of minimum weight. The Rexroth gearbox-range REDULUS GPV - a combination of one planetary and two spur gear stages - covers generator ratings up to 2000 kW.

Main gearbox REDULUS GPV-D for the multi-megawatt class

For generator ratings higher than 2 MW we have developed an innovative gearbox with high power density in differential design. The gearbox consists of two planetary input stages, one differential and one spur gear stage. REDULUS GPV-D offers major benefits in that it has slender outer diameters with the total length just being increased slightly. If higher turbine capacities are involved weight advantages of up to 15% may be achieved compared to the gearbox concepts currently in use, without compromising reliability.
