(Burlington, Ontario – Canada – www.boschrexroth.ca) The Canadian wood industry continues to change while it remains one of the country’s leading manufacturing sectors and largest net exporter. “Wood industry machine operations demand precision, speed and have to work in a less than perfect environment. Bus technologies, high-performance proportional valves with integrated motion controllers and some of the fastest pneumatic trimmer cylinders in the world are a few examples of the latest technologies available,” says Rodney Trail, Industry Sector Specialist — Wood Group and developer of the Motion Control in the Wood Industry seminar.
Every process in a wood industry plant requires some form of motion control. It may be linear, rotary or a combination. Having motion control is the key element when making machines more precise, faster and stronger. For it’s free Motion Control in the Wood Industry seminar, Bosch Rexroth has assembled case studies and key Bosch Rexroth Canada personnel with industry experience along with an extensive line-up of product support. During the course of the day, attendees will learn that there are other ways to resolve complex motion control issues other than the traditional trial and error method. This is achieved through the use of simulation software, system tracing, improved information interpretation and general trending.
Plant engineers and maintenance supervisors at sawmill operations as well as engineering and design personnel at Original Equipment Manufacturers and integrators will benefit from the seminar.
Highlights of the Motion Control in the Wood Industry seminar include:
- Participate in test-bench demonstrations of cutting-edge motion controllers;
- Discuss the latest in HPU technology and view troubleshooting tools available from Bosch Rexroth Canada; and
- Learn about closed-loop positioning of hydraulic axis; troubleshooting of closed-loop hydraulic axis; proportional valves and selection tools; HPU considerations; preventive maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; and modelling software.
The Motion Control in the Wood Industry seminar will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Longueuil, PQ, and Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Burnaby, BC. Each seminar will take place between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Lunch will be served for attendees in both locations.
