Bosch Rexroth expands manufacturing activities in Charlotte, NC

The manufacture of assembly technologies in Rexroth’s Charlotte, NC, facility, will allow for higher levels of service, with a broader range of products available from one location.
Recent consolidation of manufacturing operations for linear motion and assembly technologies products, coupled with establishment of new 67,000+ square foot logistics center, lays the foundation for future growth in the Factory Automation business sector.

Bosch Rexroth Corporation, the world’s leading provider of drive, motion and control technologies for advanced manufacturing systems, has concentrated manufacturing of its linear motion and assembly technologies products in Charlotte. To make room for the expanded manufacturing activities in its main facility, the company has also opened a new 67,000 square-foot Logistics Center for warehousing and shipping operations. The expansion in Charlotte has resulted in approximately 45 additional jobs.

The move supports a Rexroth strategy to intensify its focus on customers in key industries, and to provide a higher level of application support and service to those customers. In the Factory Automation business sector, the Charlotte location now establishes a hub near many key customers in the Southeast region, supporting product sales from other key locations for automation products, as well—Lexington, KY and Hoffman Estates, IL. To bolster the new activities, Berend Bracht, Regional President Bosch Rexroth Americas, and other top Bosch Rexroth executives are now based in the company’s office and manufacturing facility in Charlotte.

“By centralizing the manufacturing of key Factory Automation products in Charlotte, we have positioned ourselves for significant future growth,” said Berend Bracht, regional president of Bosch Rexroth in the Americas. “The logistical convenience of the Charlotte airport, wide range of available local services, and the close proximity to our Mobile Applications lead plant in Fountain Inn, SC were also key reasons for expansion here.”

Bosch Rexroth has manufactured linear motion products in Charlotte since 1991, when Rexroth acquired the Tychoway Bearing Company that had been based in Charlotte since 1985.
