Dan has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing, including 20 years of Continuous Improvement experience. He has been a consultant at GBMP for the past 10 years. Prior to becoming a GBMP Lean Manager, Dan was Operations Manager at United Electric Controls Company, where he was a 1990 winner of the Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence. He is also a Shingo Prize Examiner and is Silver Level Lean Knowledge Certified through SME. Dan worked with Pat Wardwell and Bruce Hamilton on United Electric's transformation as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager. Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University.

Patricia (Pat) Wardwell has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing. Prior to joining GBMP, Pat was Vice President of Operations at United Electric Controls Company, a 1990 winner of the Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence. Pat has been involved with continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor and in support areas since 1987 and has been a speaker at many regional and national conferences on related topics. She has led numerous cross-functional improvement teams in areas ranging from shipping to assembly to machining. Pat was co-leader of a successful ISO9001 implementation team and is an experienced ISO lead auditor. She is APICS Certified in Integrated Resource Management, is SME Lean Gold Certified, and serves as an Examiner and Chair of the National Lean Certification Oversight and Appeals Committee. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maine and an MBA from Bentley College.

Bruce Hamilton brings hands-on experience to GBMP as a manager, teacher, and change agent. He has spoken internationally on Lean Manufacturing, employee involvement, continuous improvement and implementing change, and has contributed to numerous texts on reliable methods ranging from visual control to variety reduction. Prior to joining GBMP, Mr. Hamilton was General Manager of United Electric Controls Company, recipient of the coveted Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing. He led efforts at United Electric to transform its production from a traditional batch factory to a single piece flow environment that has become an international showcase. His expertise covers both the technical side of lean manufacturing and the equally important soft skills needed to engage and inspire employees and managers.

Richard Rahn

Richard Rahn is a principal with Leonardo Group Americas LLC, an international lean training and consulting company. He has led over 100 successful lean transformation efforts in the US, Canada, Europe and Mexico. He trained over 5,000 manufacturing professionals in lean and process improvement methods, and introduced Flow Manufacturing to such companies as General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, John Deere and Emerson Electric. He graduated Cum Laude from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont and received his MBA from the University of Colorado. He is also the co-author of four Lean books, Advanced Flow Manufacturing, Fundamentals of Flow Manufacturing, Aerospace Flow and the soon-to-be-published Lean Doing! Richard was raised in Manila and Mexico City, and teaches and consults in Spanish and English.

Karen is Director of Operations for Sunnen Products Company, a global manufacturer of Honing Equipment Tooling and Supplies. Karen has over 28 years of experience in operations and has headed up the Lean Manufacturing effort at Sunnen. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla with a B.S. in engineering and has an MBA from Washington University. Karen also has her CPIM from APICS and teaches APICS courses for the CPIM as well as Lean Manufacturing.

John is Vice President, Operations, for Ophthonix, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading development of all aspects of operations, materials, service, facilities, and supply chain for the business unit, including support for new product and process development, product validation, lens and testing. John has a B.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering from Utah State University and is a graduate of the General Electric Manufacturing Management Program.

James Timberlake is a partner at KieranTimberlake. He received his B.E.S. degree from the University of Detroit, and his M.Arch degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a recipient of the Rome Prize. In 2001, Timberlake and his partner Stephen Kieran were inaugural recipients of the prestigious Benjamin Latrobe Fellowship for architectural design research from the AIA College of Fellows. In 2002, they co-authored Manual, The Architecture of KieranTimberlake and in 2003, refabricating ARCHITECTURE, which examines how manufacturing methodologies are poised to transform building construction. Their latest book, Loblolly House: Elements of a New Architecture, is a case study of a single building which chronicles a new, more efficient way of constructing offsite through the use of building information modeling and integrated component assemblies. Mr. Timberlake is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design, and Mithun Foundation Endowed Professor in Sustainability at the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning. In 2008, KieranTimberlake received the 2008 Architecture Firm Award, the highest honor bestowed on an architecture firm by the American Institute of Architects.

Earle Cooper is a Project Manager for Eagle Technologies Group located in Bridgman, MI. Eagle is a turnkey systems integrator supplying custom automation and material handling systems to the Automotive, Medical, and Consumer Goods Industries. Earle has been involved in the automation business since graduating from Lehigh University with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering in 1983.

Mark Ellis manages a Supply Center in Lancaster PA for Bosch Security Technologies division. The Lancaster plant produces video surveillance and intrusion detection products for industrial security applications. They began their lean transformation more than fifteen years ago. Mark is a graduate of Lehigh University where he received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Operations Research.

Jamie Flinchbaugh is a co-founder and partner of the Lean Learning Center, and the co-author of the popular book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean. As a leader, practitioner and facilitator, he’s successfully aided many companies and organizations in their quest for lean transformation. Prior to starting the Center, Jamie was part of the development and implementation of the Chrysler Operating System, a widely-benchmarked lean change program. Jamie is a graduate fellow of the Leaders for Manufacturing Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received an MBA from the Sloan School of Management and a Masters of Engineering degree.
