Conclusion

Every Contribution Counts

The examples show: There is no technology that can meet all the efficiency targets on their own, but rather the sum of each individual measure that counts. Considerable savings can be made by the intelligent interlinking of a variety of measures. Greater efficiency reduces energy costs, meaning that investments can pay for themselves within a short period of time. However, there is one consideration throughout the service life of a system that may or may not endorse the decision made after procurement costs have been taken into account. Cheap products offer one-off savings; efficient products pay every day.

Anyone wishing to take energy productivity seriously does not have to wait until the invention of completely new technologies. The essential products and modules are already in existence. It is now a case of taking these into account during the project design phase of new systems, as well as addressing the optimization of auxiliary processes. By taking many small steps – this is how the target will be met.
