ctrlX World with 100th partner: SMC now on board

  • Pneumatics specialist SMC Deutschland GmbH expands the solution portfolio of the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION
  • ctrlX World is growing: 100 partners from different sectors
  • Companies from the partner world present their solutions at the Rexroth booth at the Hannover Messe trade fair

SMC Deutschland GmbH is the 100th partner in the ctrlX World. SMC is the first pneumatics supplier to expand the range of the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION, opening up new possibilities for users. At Hannover Messe, seven companies from Bosch Rexroth’s growing partner network ctrlX World will be exhibiting in hall 6 at booth D26.

The automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION from Bosch Rexroth provides all the building blocks for complete automation solutions – from controllers and I/Os, IPCs, HMIs, drives and safety solutions to comprehensive motion, PLC and IoT functions. The partner network ctrlX World is continuously expanding the solution space with hardware and, in particular, apps – now also including pneumatic and electrical automation solutions from SMC.

“Be it in the automotive, packaging or process industry: Sensors for pneumatics provide input from the shop floor. With the sensors and actuators, we ensure quick and easy integration into the ctrlX AUTOMATION environment via IO-link or EtherCAT,” explains Torsten Wöhler, Senior Vice President of Sales & Product Marketing at SMC Deutschland GmbH.

The connection of the valve manifold with EX260 and the JXC controller from SMC directly via EtherCAT to ctrlX OS devices enables simple control of the air flows in and on the machine. Electrical drive functions can also be mapped and integrated in a compact format. The Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS enables seamless integration into the overall machine concept.

The connection of the SMC electric drive to ctrlX OS devices offers additional advantages: By integrating the controller (JXC) via EtherCAT, users receive all current information from the drive (LE) in real time and can set up the new positions directly from a ctrlX OS device.

Solve all requirements with one platform and apps

“The partner world around our modular automation system is growing continuously. 100 partner companies from various sectors have joined. Our common goal: to simplify and improve the various processes of industrial automation. This ranges from apps for robot integration to AI solutions and tools for energy management. We can therefore solve all challenges – whether simple or complex – via our platform and the partner world,” says Steffen Winkler, Senior Vice President Sales of the Automation & Electrification Solutions Business Unit at Bosch Rexroth.
