Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today. Machine manufacturers and users across the globe are doing their part to tackle this issue head-on, developing energy-efficient machines and systems in order to reduce power consumption and therefore CO2 emissions.
We are supporting machine manufacturers and users with our universal system Rexroth for Energy Efficiency (4EE). The purpose of this system is three-fold:
More and more governments are also investing in the expansion of renewable energies, using an energy mix to reach climate protection targets. Rexroth also offers tailored solutions in this area: Since the 1980s, we have been developing drives for wind turbines, thus helping to achieve an almost 50-fold increase in the capacity of wind energy plants. In the up-and-coming field of tidal energy, we are working with all of the important plant manufacturers to develop power take-off systems that convert waves, currents and tides into electricity.
We consider it one of our primary responsibilities to develop energy-efficient, production-ready and cross-technology solutions for our customers in all industries. A large portion of our R&D expenditure is therefore invested in the development and provision of appropriate energy-efficient products and services.
