For example, Bosch Rexroth developed the hydrostatic auxiliary drive system "Hydraulic Traction Assistant" (HTA) as an alternative to the conventional mechanical all-wheel drive system. HTA is extremely useful in vehicles designed for heavy-duty off-road use and in dumpers. For vehicles that deliver materials to construction sites from time to time or occasionally need to traverse slippery hills and passes in winter, HTA is the perfect solution.
In traction mode, the hydrostatic auxiliary drive system provides additional power of around 50 kW and additional torque of up to 6000 Nm per wheel. HTA can be integrated into existing vehicles without affecting chassis design or maneuverability. Compared to traditional all-wheel drive systems, the lower weight of the HTA translates into greater useful load capacity and reduces fuel consumption.
Another hydraulic system allowing you to comply with environmental regulations and to reduce operating costs through better fuel economy is the Hydrostatic Regenerative Braking System(HRB.). With this system, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to 25 percent.
