OverviewFurther stimuli for growth and technological transformation
Lohr a. Main – Bosch Rexroth has appointed Thomas Donato Member of the Executive Board with responsibility for Mobile Hydraulics from January 1, 2022. Donato will head the Mobile Hydraulics Business Unit, the largest business unit at Bosch Rexroth, in addition to his other duties. Certain Executive Board duties will be reassigned.
Thomas Donato (49) joins Bosch Rexroth from Rockwell Automation where he was Officer and Senior Vice President Global Sales & Marketing. He spent around 18 years at the company where he had various technical and regional responsibilities. Rolf Najork, member of the Board of Management at Robert Bosch GmbH and Chairman of the Executive Board of Bosch Rexroth AG, said: “Thomas Donato joining Bosch Rexroth means we welcome an executive with a wealth of international experience: He will bring great customer focus and wide-ranging experience in the fields of electrification, automation, robotics and service. This is another stimulus in driving the strategic development of Mobile Hydraulics. We look forward to our cooperation in the Executive Board.”
Before he joined the automation specialist Rockwell, Donato spent around eight years at ABB Robotics. After an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician, Donato studied in Darmstadt where he obtained an engineering degree. Thomas Donato said: “I very much look forward to working with customers and the global Mobile Hydraulics team. Together, we will leverage the potential offered by the technological transformation of mobile machines and thus further develop Bosch Rexroth’s strong market position in mobile hydraulics.” Donato will take over as head of the Mobile Hydraulics Business Unit from Holger von Hebel who had continued to lead the business unit when he took on the role of CFO and Director of Industrial Relations at Bosch Rexroth in October.
Executive duties reassigned with a view to achieving growth
The new Executive Board position for the Mobile Hydraulics Business Unit means that the Board will consist of six members. By merging duties in the business units, there will be no need for additional management positions. Najork: “By appointing Thomas Donato and reassigning duties, the Executive Board is focusing clearly on growth and the further technological development of Bosch Rexroth.”
Hettwer to take over as head of the Industrial Hydraulics Business Unit
Another change will take place within the business units on January 1, 2022: Guido Hettwer will become Head of the Industrial Hydraulics Business Unit. He will take over from Dr. Steffen Haack, Executive Board member responsible for Engineering and Head of the New Business product area. Haack too remained in charge of the Industrial Hydraulics Business Unit in addition to his Management Board position when he was appointed to the board. Hettwer is currently heading sales at Industrial Hydraulics and will keep this position in the future in addition to his new task.
