Bosch Rexroth Launches Heavy Duty Motor Range for the Forestry Industry

Bosch Rexroth Launches Heavy Duty Motor Range for the Forestry Industry

A stronger shaft and bearings make the new radial piston motor MCR-W type from Bosch Rexroth ideal for the more demanding conditions including eucalyptus harvesting

Rexroth MCR-W: 60 percent higher radial load capacity compared to standard radial piston motors

The Bosch Rexroth MCR range of radial piston motors has been specifically developed for a number of forestry vehicle applications including feed rollers, rotator heads, wheel and slew drives. Central to the range is the new MCR-W type designed for forestry harvester head feed roller applications.

The MCR-W type is designed to withstand the most demanding conditions including eucalyptus harvesting. Fitted with a stronger shaft and bearings, the MCR-W provides a 60 percent improvement in radial load capacity compared to standard radial piston motors.

With frame sizes of 3, 5 and 10, weighing in at 27 kg, 38 kg, or 64 kg, the MCR-W motor can be fitted on a wide range of harvester heads depending on base machine tonnage. Furthermore, flexible design options for the manufacturers are supported by the numerous displacement options from 160 to 1340 cc per revolution which provide a wide range of speeds at a differential pressure of up to 450 bar.

In addition to the MCR-W type Bosch Rexroth has launched the new MCR-F type forestry motor at the Elmia Wood forestry trade fair in Sweden, which has been adapted to meet the demanding requirements of high radial and axial loading and rapid changes of direction. Featuring reinforced components to help guard against cavitation during load reversal and metal face seals to provide protection against contamination ingress, the MCR-F type motor is extremely durable.

Dieter Fetting, Director Sales and Industry Sector Management Agriculture and Forestry Machines at Bosch Rexroth said: “The forestry industry provides a challenging environment for equipment manufacturers and the latest MCR range of radial piston motors offers a durable and versatile portfolio of drives solutions for even the most gruelling of undertakings. The motors allow manufacturers to extend the life-span of their machines and provide optional extras such as speed sensors and a range of brakes.”

As well as the MCR-W and the MCR-F Bosch Rexroth’s forestry machinery portfolio includes the MCR-X type slew drive motor and the MCR-H type hydrobase drive option for rotator heads.
