Rexroth IndraDrive Cs: New small drives for open use in the Ethernet world
A Small Drive for the Big Ethernet World
With the new series of compact IndraDrive Cs drives, Rexroth is expanding the lower power range of the IndraDrive drive system that has enjoyed worldwide success. In addition to an innovative space-saving design and excellent performance data, Rexroth’s IndraDrive Cs stands out for its extensive Ethernet-based communication interfaces and takes account of the increased requirements for openness and consistency with newly developed communication hardware with multiple protocol compatibility.
Rexroth’s IndraDrive Cs drives feature SERCOS III, Profinet IO (RT), Ethernet/IP and EtherCAT support, even in the basic universal version, with Profibus-DP offered as an option. They are connected via universal communication hardware for all the Ethernet-based interfaces named that is easily configured using Rexroth’s IndraWorks. Rexroth has thus given engineers a high degree of flexibility in communication with minimal engineering work. Combined with the multiple transducer interface for evaluating all relevant encoder types plus an additional slot, it is possible – with only a few standard variants – to confidently cover very specific drive tasks.
Future versions of the IndraDrive Cs drives will offer optional use of Motion Logic in accordance with IEC 61131-3 and the integrated “Safety on board” complete the universal usability of the new small drives from Rexroth.

Heavy duty construction equipment, hasn’t traditionally been considered to be at the forefront of technological development. However, driven in part by health and safety, increased demand for multipurpose equipment and traceability, even the heaviest machinery now has functionality more commonly associated with Googles latest vehicle innovations than traditional construction equipment.
Industry body, GAMBICA, has strengthened its industrial representation with the addition of world leading drives and controls manufacturer, Bosch Rexroth.
