ctrlX OS – Linux-based operating system for the industry
The great freedom in automation: ctrlX OS – the Linux-based operating system that was previously used exclusively on the control platform ctrlX CORE is now available as a separate solution for the industrial environment. It is designed for real-time use and can be deployed at all levels – from the field level to edge devices to the cloud.
The industrial Linux operating system is hardware-independent and compatible with a variety of automation components. By using ctrlX OS, users gain access to the entire ecosystem of digital services, including web-based engineering, device management, a community, and the ctrlX OS Store. They also gain access to a wide range of solutions, including those from the ctrlX World partner network.
Across all levels of the automation topology, software-based functions can be developed, installed, updated, and operated even more easily and flexibly. Bosch Rexroth thus maps the prerequisites for the software-powered factory and enables modern software practices such as virtual testing and DevOps in automation.
