New Variable Motor Rexroth A6VM

New Variable Motor Rexroth A6VM

Improved low running-speed operation by combining higher nominal pressure, increased specific displacement, and faster rotational speed: New series 71 of the Rexroth axial piston variable motor A6VM.

The new series 71 of the axial piston variable motor Rexroth A6VM features a higher nominal pressure and power density improved by up to a third. The new motor and the newly developed series 40 of the axial piston variable pump A4VG in closed-circuit operation form an ideal combination for hydrostatic travel drives in mobile equipment.

Rexroth developers achieved the higher power density of the new motor A6VM by increasing nominal pressure, rotational speed and specific displacement. The efficiency of the new nine-piston motor is noticeably improved, particularly with small swivel angles. The motor ensures even smoother low running-speed operation at very low output speeds over the entire swivel angle range. The starting behavior of the motor is also improved. The ability of the motor to switch to zero position of the motor also allows state of the art drive functions, such as Rexroth traction control (ASC), to be added.

The sealing points of the threaded connections for the new variable motor series were designed for the use of seal rings. The Rexroth designers also optimized the cross-flow scavenging, which is important above all when using the A6-motor as a high-performance drive. The improved temperature behavior and reduced case pressure cut down on wear and increase service life. Despite the improved performance, the main dimensions of the case are the same as the predecessor series. Speed and temperature sensors can also be connected.

The new performance is best seen in pavers and crawler-type machines such as loading tractors and bulldozers. It improves the driving and steering behavior with regard to precision and power-usage for applications with high feed requirements. Furthermore, these advantages also apply to winch drives and similar applications.
