Bosch Rexroth’s Bethlehem manufacturing facility has become certified in ISO 50001:2011 and ANSI/MSE 50021:2013 for their outstanding work in achieving superior energy performance and their commitment to continuous improvements in both energy efficiency and environmental management.

The Bethlehem plant, which has been ISO 9001 certified since 1993, ISO 14001 certified since 2004, and OHSAS 18001 certified since 2015, received their latest certifications in May and June of this year.

ISO 50001:2011

Bethlehem’s latest certification joins only two other globally recognized Bosch Rexroth facilities in the world; our Homburg facility and Feuerbach facilities in Germany. The objective of this standard is to continuously improve energy-related performance and identify energy-reduction opportunities as defined by the DEKRA energy management system (EnMS.)

ANSI/MSE 50021:2013

Our Bethlehem site is the first Bosch U.S. manufacturing facility to receive platinum level certification according to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/MSE 50021:2013 Superior Energy Performance (SEP) in the Energy Performance Pathway and Mature Energy Pathway categories. This is the highest available certification in the U.S. and means that the plant demonstrated an energy performance improvement of 17% between 2012 and 2015. Only nine other companies within North America are platinum certified – achieving 15% energy performance improvement or better.

“Bosch Rexroth Bethlehem is proud to be the first Bosch facility in the North America to earn the SEP Platinum Mature Energy Pathway recognition during our ISO 50001 certification process,” said Manfred Hahn, Vice President - Technical Plant Manager, Industrial Hydraulics Division. “Without our conscientious associates that activily work to reduce our energy consumption, the platinum level would not be possible. ”

The Scope of the Bosch Rexroth, Bethlehem Energy Management System includes sales and application engineering, design, manufacturing, assembly, conversion and service of drive and control components and systems.
