Four Bosch Rexroth products named Finalists in Control Engineering’s 2018 Engineers’ Choice Awards

IoT Gateway Engineers' Choice Award Finalist

Rexroth’s IoT Gateway is a finalist for the Software – Industrial Internet of Things connectivity category in Control Engineering’s 2018 Engineers’ Choice Awards

Control Engineering magazine selected four Bosch Rexroth products as finalists for the 2018 Engineers’ Choice Awards. Online voting is taking place now through December 19, 2017 for Control Engineering’s print and digital qualified subscribers, who are encouraged to vote in as many categories as applicable. Qualifications are based on technological advancement, service to the industry and market impact.

Sytronix

Rexroth Sytronix DRn 5020 is a powerful, cost-effective solution for hydraulic power units (HPU) with small to high power requirements. Specifically designed for constant pressure systems, the DRn 5020 provides higher performance for presses, metallurgy, wood working or central hydraulic systems. The DRn 5020 system distinguishes itself with high response time due to the fast-acting pump, even with a traditional low-dynamic induction motor. The pump control optimizes the operating speed, maximizing efficiency and minimizing noise produced by these constant pressure systems.

Sytronix is a Finalist in the Motion control – Drives category

EFC 5610 Frequency Converter (VFD)

The newly enhanced EFC 5610 frequency converter (VFD) by Rexroth now provides STO functionality from 0.4 kW (0.5 hp) to 90 kW (125 hp). In addition to the advanced safety options, the EFC 5610 offers vector control for an optimal torque curve. With the improved safety features of the EFC 5610 frequency converter, Rexroth offers an economical and safety-conscious solution for a variety of applications in which valuable energy has to be used responsibly. Marked with the Rexroth 4EE systematic approach, Rexroth continues its commitment to energy efficiency without compromising on the quality.

PurePower Filter Media

Rexroth’s new fifth generation filter media, PurePower , reliably retains destructive contaminants unseen to the naked eye, ensuring failsafe operation of hydraulic systems. In addition, PurePower lowers operating costs thanks to a significantly increased service life of the filter elements. This is the first time a manufacturer has equipped all filter elements in standard sizes with an electrical conductive fleece filter medium by default, reducing the risk of electric discharges in connection with zinc and ash-free hydraulic oils.

PurePower Filter Media is a Finalist in the Motion control category

IoT Gateway

Rexroth’s IoT Gateway makes it easy to connect to the Internet of Things (IoT) without intervening in the automation logic. The precisely coordinated combination of control hardware and software for implementing IT applications collects sensor and process data, transmits it to MES, cloud applications or local machine state monitoring systems and enables process data analysis. The IoT Gateway requires no additional software to set up, saving cost and time.

The IoT Gateway is a Finalist in the Software – Industrial Internet of Things connectivity category.
