On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, Bosch Rexroth plans to unveil its new vehicle test area in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. As a significant asset to research and development (R&D) and applications engineering groups, the site will enable testing of entire systems as well as individual components. This unique capability contributes to South Carolina’s mission to locally support R&D and allows customers the convenience of evaluating whichever type and quantity of product they need in a quality environment. Additionally, the test area will permit Rexroth to showcase and evaluate new and current products in the construction, material handling, agriculture and commercial equipment industries.

Located at Bosch Rexroth’s Fountain Inn, SC plant, the R&D and Applications Engineering vehicle test area can be used to ensure newly-purchased machinery is thoroughly tested against safety standards, as well as, confirm endurance levels. With the new test area, customers are active participants in the testing and commissioning of their vehicles and evaluate new products on demo machines. Companies that specialize in construction, material handling, agriculture and commercial equipment will benefit from the certainty the new vehicle test area provides by allowing them to test complete systems or system components.

The R&D and Applications Engineering vehicle test area boasts a variety of impressive features such as multiple pad areas, including gravel, concrete and a wash pad. A concrete pad allows for traction and controllability testing, a concrete road permits customers to evaluate drive systems in a real-life environment and an excavation area is available for safety testing and more.

Customer vehicle commissioning, prototype vehicle functional testing, prototype evaluation, components endurance testing and new control algorithm evaluations are just a few of the possibilities the new vehicle test area opens. With the R&D and Applications Engineering Vehicle Test Area, customers can participate in the testing and commissioning of their vehicles, and/or drive and evaluate new products on demonstration machines. Designed to evaluate entire systems or individual components, the new Fountain Inn vehicle test area will prove to be a significant asset to R&D and applications engineering groups in North America.
