Bosch Rexroth’s Hydraulic Pump Control (VT-HPC) joins the Sytronix family

Bosch Rexroth’s new Sytronix family member is making its debut appearance at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, April 30 to May 3. The VT-HPC is a flow and pressure control system for variable displacement pumps. The “n” function augments the standard HPC by ensuring maximum energy efficiency and minimizing noise generation. Since the VT-HPC can be incorporated into any structure using a multi-Ethernet interface, it’s also ideal for Industry 4.0 applications.

For industrial applications, hydraulic pumps are powered by induction motors, which are either directly connected to the grid or driven by variable speed power electronics. Since the VT-HPC is in charge of supplying the proper pressure and flow required by the application, it makes sense that it should also be in charge of ensuring that the induction motor is rotating at an optimized speed. The “n” function allows this capability by providing an optimized speed reference level for the variable speed drive systems powering variable displacement hydraulic pumps.

Key advantages of the VT-HPC include:

• Simple: take on any engineering task with a single tool (IndraWorks)

• Fast: easier start-up, better dynamics

• Open: Sercos and Multi-Ethernet connection to existing control architecture, simple diagnostics, quick service thanks to Ethernet-based TCP/IP service interface

• Flexible: scale functionality and communication with ease in the software

• Scalable: for use on HS5 controlled pumps from 40cc/u to 1000cc/u
