When it comes to performance there are no upper limits! Rexroth’s new multi-axis control is proof of this. A single unit can already control up to 32 electric or hydraulic axes. And using cross communication to link several units together almost any number of axes can be driven. In the MAC-8 Rexroth brings together all the special features of hydraulic drive technology, which leads to considerably more straightforward engineering. Key application functionality is available in templates and special functions. For instance, in a continuous casting system this modular motion control, currently the most powerful motion control for hydraulic drives, is capable of linking more than 100 closed-loop control axes.

The new control is distinctly more compact, yet at the same time features substantially enhanced computational capability. The fact that all interfaces are integrated in the processor ensures rapid exchange of data and very high quality of motion. The processors are derived from the automotive industry and communications engineering. This guarantees large-scale production benefits and long-term supply.
