How it works

With a traditional series circuit the natural slip of rubber tires (“walking”) leads to an even distribution of the hydraulic fluid between the two series connected radial piston motors. This means poor efficiency and unfavorable torque distribution for the drive.

These are precisely the drawbacks of the series circuit that HET completely eliminates. A specially developed valve block ensures that the “excess” hydraulic fluid which arises from the natural slip is not hydraulically clamped but rather flows to the low-pressure side of the circuit.

One clear advantage of the series circuit is retained: automatic actuation of the all-wheel function without any driver intervention – but now only when needed, i.e. when there is an actual loss of traction, thereby saving energy.
