Initial Situation
The demand for small and medium-sized excavators has increased all across the world over the past few years. At the same time, customers have become a lot more demanding. They are looking for precise maneuverability, flexible use in a variety of applications, and low operating costs with optimum utilization of engine output. In times of high energy costs, efficient hydraulics, combined with durable and highly reliable components and systems, form the basis for cost-effective mobile machines.
The Rexroth 4EE Solution
Bosch Rexroth has enhanced individual components in the load-independent flow distribution system LUDV in order to increase the efficiency of compact excavators while keeping fuel consumption low. The redesigned LUDV flow distribution system combines the new RS12 control manifold with an upgraded version of the tried and tested A7VO variable displacement pump, leading to a significant improvement in the productivity of compact excavators.
The result
A test run with a 6.5 t excavator, equipped with the enhanced LUDV components, yielded a 13% excavation productivity increase while fuel consumption was reduced by 8%.
