Predictive Services: Know today what to expect tomorrow and beyond

Maintenance contracts supported by data mining increase the uptime of machines and systems

The connection of machines due to Industry 4.0 allows large quantities of data to be recorded and evaluated. Rexroth uses this along with the new service package ODiN (Online Diagnostics Network) to continuously and safely monitor the operating conditions of hydraulic systems for users. Therefore Rexroth can identify condition changes of critical components early and carry out necessary maintenance and repair work before a component failure causes a system breakdown.

"Readers that have bought this book are also interested in the following article." Large online retailers already use data mining as part of everyday life. They deduce individual recommendations from this and create added value for their customers. Rexroth takes this approach for industrial users, analyzing operating conditions of hydraulic systems online to detect wear early. The increase in the data pool with every newly connected system allows ODiN to improve its ability to predict wear thanks to self-learning algorithms.

Within the framework of a maintenance contract, Rexroth provides recommendations on necessary work and carries it out. This lowers maintenance costs, because only worn parts are replaced and significantly reduces the risk of an expensive system breakdown. This service offer is particularly interesting for operators of systems with high downtime costs, for example in the marine & offshore industries, or in mining & material handling, metallurgy, pulp & paper or sugar manufacturing.

Highest data security

The continuous data collection has no impact on the process. The data is transferred using secure encrypted mechanisms to the ODiN system. Storing and processing of data is performed on Robert Bosch GmbH servers in compliance with the strict data protection rules of the Group.

Wide range of services

ODiN extends the offer from Rexroth regarding condition monitoring of hydraulic systems. In their simplest form, measuring systems such as particle counters signal that a critical limit value in the hydraulic fluid has been reached. In a further stage the evaluation of additional information such as drive data is used to supplement monitoring of the system.

In the comprehensive ODiN variant, users regularly receive a status report with information on the machine condition and recommended actions. In addition, the current machine condition can be monitored via a web portal. Therefore users already know today what to expect tomorrow and beyond and can carry out maintenance work early with support from Rexroth.
