Change in Leadership at Bosch Rexroth AG

  • Dr. Albert Hieronimus hands over Chairman of the Board of Management position to Dr. Karl Tragl
  • Company will be organized by market segments and industries

Lohr a. Main – As of 1 July, a change in leadership will be made at Bosch Rexroth AG. The background for the change is the company reorganization scheduled for the coming summer. An alignment of Bosch Rexroth by market segments and industries and organization into three business units – Mobile Applications, Industrial Applications and Renewable Energies – is planned. As the chairman, Dr. Albert Hieronimus (63), will be leaving the Board of Management in a few months, the Supervisory Council has appointed Dr. Karl Tragl (47) to his successor. Tragl will implement the alignment of the company, which was worked out under the presidency of Hieronimus. Hieronimus will be a member of the Bosch Rexroth AG Supervisory Board starting on 1 January 2011 and will serve as a consultant to the company until that point.

Hieronimus began his professional career in 1979 at the former Mannesmann AG. In 1993, he was appointed to the Board of Mannesmann Rexroth AG and was a member of the Board of Bosch Rexroth AG starting in 2001. In 2003, he moved to the Indian Bosch subsidiary MICO, now Bosch Ltd., as Chairman of the Management Board before being appointed Chairman of the Board of Management at Bosch Rexroth AG in February 2008.

Tragl, who has been a member of the Board of Management of Bosch Rexroth since February 2008, began his professional career in the Corporate Planning and Development department at Siemens AG in Munich. His professional emphases included company-wide reorganization, growth, and innovation projects. He was a partner in the Siemens Management Consulting firm, founded in 1996. In 1998, he assumed the management of the global Siemens Standard Drives division in England. Dr. Tragl, who holds a doctorate in engineering, then moved to Mannesmann Rexroth AG and was made responsible for world-wide Service in the area of Factory Automation in 2001 after the merger with Bosch Automationstechnik. 2003 he became Technical Director of the Electric Drives and Controls Division and 2004 Chairman of the Board of Management and Technical Director of the Electric Drives and Controls Division. Tragl will become President and take over the responsibility for the Business Unit Industrial Application and the functional excellence in Sales.

Dr. Stefan Spindler (48) has also been newly appointed to the Board of Management as of 1 July. He will assume the newly-created management unit of Renewable Energies, a clear indication of the increasing importance of renewable energies within the Bosch Rexroth. Spindler was previously a member of the Board of Managment at MAN Diesel & Turbo in Augsburg. The Board of Management at Bosch Rexroth AG is comprised of members Dr. Georg Hanen (57), responsible for commercial tasks and personnel, as well as Reiner Leipold-Büttner (60), who is in charge of the Business Unit Mobile Applications in addition to manufacturing and development.
