MOTEK 2010 - Open up Savings Potential: Linear Motion Systems Combined with Drive-integrated Safety on Board

MOTEK 2010

Ready-to-install linear motion systems: combined with drive-integrated Safety on Board they open up savings potential along the entire engineering chain.

A wide range of ready-to-install linear motion systems with drive-integrated Safety on Board from Rexroth accelerates the entire engineering process and increases machine availability in day-to-day operation. The safety functions of the IndraDrive servo-drives are certified in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and EN 62061 and mark the current state of the art.

The combination of standardized but configurable, ready-to-install linear motion systems with safety functions certified in accordance with current standards opens up savings potential along the entire engineering chain, from configuration to construction and commissioning. Compared to conventional solutions, linear motion systems with drive-integrated Safety on Board save numerous components such as limit switches and measuring and evaluating devices. In addition, the drive-integrated and certified safety technology reduces the planning and administrative work involved in implementing the Machinery Directive. Rexroth supplies all the documentation required. incomplete machines.

Machine availability is increased above all by Safety on Board, because with this solution it suffices to switch the corresponding axes to safe mode in order to carry out set-up tasks or troubleshooting. Unlike many other concepts there is no need for the machine or plant to be shut down completely. Restart times are therefore far shorter.

IndraDrive monitors the functions in decentralized mode without taking the longer route through the higher-level control system. This guarantees very short reaction times of just 2 milliseconds in the event of a fault, thus ensuring the fastest possible shut-down. The Rexroth offering of linear motion systems with integrated safety technology extends from linear modules, linear motion slides, compact modules, feed and bridge modules, ball rail tables and EMC electromechanical cylinders to multiple-axis systems and camoLINE, the Cartesian motion building system. New online configurators and selection tools make it easy to plan these complex linear motion systems. For more information please visit http://www.boschrexroth.de/ls-safety

Rexroth will be at the Motek in hall 3, stand 3305.
