Ergonomic, safe, robust

Customized function and design: the new operating handles EC 3500+ fit numerous variants of different concepts and fulfill the guidelines of the Machinery Directive.

New operating handles for electronic and hydraulic joysticks fulfill Performance Level (PL) d

Move heavy loads sensitively and precisely by hand. Ergonomically optimized design for the efficient operation of mobile working machines and certified safety up to Performance Level (PL) d according to ISO 13849: with numerous variants available, the new EC 3500+ series of operating handles for electronic and hydraulic joysticks from Rexroth can be integrated into mobile working machines of any kind.

The joystick is a central operating element in mobile working machines. For this safety-critical sub-system, the requirements of the Machinery Directive and other regional specifications and standards apply. With the new multifunctional handles, the hydraulic and electronic joysticks from Rexroth achieve the highest safety categories. With them, the THE5 electronic joystick fulfills Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 according to IEC 62061 and Performance Level (PL) d according to ISO 13849. This certification is valid for all functions, including the on/off buttons, rocker switches and proportional rollers. Manufacturers therefore require no additional monitoring components for the function of the joystick, thus reducing their costs.

The latest findings in ergonomics flow into the design of the operating handles. The asymmetrical design is each specially adapted to use in the right or left armrest, making it intuitive to operate. The soft-touch surfaces increase comfort for the operator, with the pleasantly smooth surface preventing slippage. The new series comprises numerous variants that blend function and design flexibly into a wide variety of operating concepts. Depending on the wishes of its customer, Rexroth equips the EC 3500+ with up to five buttons and three-step rocker switches or proportional rollers. In addition, vehicle manufacturers can choose between different control head geometries. The operating handles are fully compatible with electronic and hydraulic joysticks from Rexroth.

Intelligent hydraulics for increased availability

Connected hydraulics increase the availability of machinery and plants through condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. For this purpose, Rexroth offers scalable solutions, from individual units with local evaluation to the complete, cloud-based monitoring of large plants. Sensors measure all relevant operating conditions and software detects wear before it leads to failure. Retrofitting kits also economically integrate already installed plants into these concepts.

Linear motion, short time to market

Stand-alone linear axes are the trend. The combination of electrical drive unit and mechanical or hydraulic cylinder reduces installation space and engineering time and combines our specific professional knowledge in one system. With ready-to-mount and i4.0-enabled solution packages, Bosch Rexroth is in line with the current market requirements regarding electrification, digitalization and monitoring as well as condition-based maintenance. The uniform control and drive concept which is used in the different technologies serves as a basis for a short time to market and the economical implementation of hybrid solutions.
