New product selection tool saves time and provides optimum results

Integrated digital engineering: New selection and sizing tool LinSelect for linear axis and actuators from Rexroth.

LinSelect from Rexroth closes the digital workflow from product selection right through to the electronic order

With the LinSelect software, design engineers will in future be able to find the optimal linear axes and actuators from around 100,000 possible Rexroth product variants in just five steps. The new selection tool completes the digital workflow from product selection right through to ordering in the Rexroth eShop. Here, selecting complete axes and actuators extends beyond the mechanicals; it also encompasses suitable Rexroth motors and drive controllers. Rexroth will present an alpha version for the first time at the Automatica trade fair.

With LinSelect, Bosch Rexroth closes the workflow for an integrated digital engineering process, from selection right through to configuration and on to the electronic order in the eShop. Even inexperienced users are guided intuitively through the selection process, without the need for laborious training and familiarization. In just five steps, the software narrows down the number of possible variants based on individual needs. As well as a pure calculation of mathematical parameters, the software developers have also integrates algorithms with comprehensive application specific know-how of linear motion systems. In addition to pure mechanicals, the tool also suggests suitable Rexroth motor and drive controllers.

LinSelect is already being tested by its first users ahead of the first version release. The users' suggestions and wishes with regard to user experience among other things will be integrated into the tool's further development.

Get the right runner blocks with digital turbo power

Bosch Rexroth has expanded its series of completely digital eTools for linear motion technology: The new online configurator for runner blocks depicts the company’s full range of ball and roller rail systems. Therefore, in just a few steps, the user can define and order their own custom product. Automatic plausibility checks prevent configuration errors, particularly when individual selections are changed retrospectively. The user can download a 2D or 3D model before ordering. An accompanying 3D drawing in PDF format makes it easier to swap parts before completing the order in the eShop.
