Ready for Industry 4.0: New generation of industrial PCs

IndraControl VPB40.4 from Rexroth

Specially designed for harsh environments and high demands on computing power: The latest IPC generation from Rexroth with new processors and numerous expansion options.

The IndraControl VPB40.4 from Rexroth with significantly enhanced performance

The control and the regulation of complex processes and systems in harsh environmental conditions: Only high-performance industrial PCs meet these requirements. Industry 4.0 applications, in particular, further increase the automation requirements for IPCs. Bosch Rexroth offers the new IndraControl VPB40.4 IPC generation with significantly more computing and graphics performance at its disposal. The latest multi-core processors, a variety of interfaces and expansion options are the basis for solving demanding automation and networking tasks in applications for the Internet of Things.

The new IndraControl VPB40.4 industrial PCs are based on the system architecture of the previous generation that is proven to work in rugged conditions. Equipped with the latest Intel processors, these devices offer several times more performance than their predecessors.

Together with the much more powerful graphics performance, the VPB40.4 also supports the most demanding visualization requirements, as they will be needed for future machines and system concepts. For the visualization and operation of the system, the new VPB40.4 industrial PCs can be combined with the tried and tested, robust operating displays of the IndraControl VDP series, for example in a multi touch version.

In addition to the high-performance Intel processors, the new industrial PCs include two Gbit LAN network connections, seven USB interfaces, as well as a connection for the operating display and another for monitors with display port interfaces. Either two or four plug-in locations for PCI and PCIe plug-in cards are available for hardware extensions. For mass memory, users can choose between conventional hard disks and wear-free solid state storage. Bosch Rexroth delivers the industrial PCs with either Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating system. The pre-installed software includes language extensions, embedded and security features, as well as software tools for the maintenance and diagnosis of the unit.

The new industrial PCs are supplemented by high-performance software packages for control, regulation, visualization, data processing, analysis, and networking, among other things. This makes IndraControl VPB40.4 the optimum solution to meet various requirements in both current and future Industry 4.0 applications.
