Efficient machine functions: Bosch Rexroth’s high-performance press line modules IH04 type C follow a standardized control and safety concept.

In the “Efficient machine functions for sheet-metal forming” solution area, Bosch Rexroth will show a new series of modularly set-up control plates for hydraulic press lines adjusted to DIN EN693:2009 at EuroBLECH 2016 (hall 11, D08). Tailored to current and future market requirements, the safety-related press line modules IH04 type C guarantee exact positioning, high press forces and short cycle times. Due to the uniform control plate construction with modular blocks, high-quality valves and a standardized safety concept according to the highest category 4 of standard EN693, the engineering time and the time-to-market can be shortened.

With regard to performance and economy, the new press line modules convince with a loss-optimized construction for flows up to 2,000 l/min and an operating pressure up to 350 bar. Thanks to the construction and the preferred use of cartridge valves, Bosch Rexroth could increase the flow by approx. 30% with almost unchanged low pressure losses and thus increase the force density and energy efficiency. Thanks to the patented switching principle with only two throttling points, the users moreover benefit from a low pressure loss in all press line movements.

The range of functions maps the latest state-of-the-art and comprises e.g. a proportional press force adjustment, slow retraction with spring tool, different rapid traverse modes as well as load-sensing in the high-response valve with detection of direction.

The scope of application is extended to all machine types the closing movement of which causes the safety requirements of the standards specified above. Apart from hydraulic press lines according to DIN EN693:2009, these also include plastic and rubber processing machines according to DIN EN289:2009.

In addition, the new press line modules IH04 type C support machine manufacturers in the project planning, particularly with regard to commissioning and risk consideration according to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and ISO 13849. Based on the standardized approach, special solutions may also be realized in a cost-efficient manner, without the need of having to produce an individual control plate as before. The modular concept allows for a uniform program structure across all frame sizes and thus considerably reduces the necessary programming work. For a simplified acceptance, Bosch Rexroth also provides a type-examination procedure (HSM15009-2015).

The control cabinet PCs of the IndraControl V series are suitable as control for hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and hybrid drive concepts. The Open Core Interface technology is also available; by means of this technology, engineering, testing and commissioning can be considerably simplified in favor of a shorter time-to-market.
