Electromechanical cylinders from Rexroth last up to 25% longer

EMC electromechanical cylinders from Rexroth set new benchmarks for service life and cost-efficiency.

Lower system costs thanks to longer service life

Rexroth has increased the service life of EMC electromechanical cylinders by up to 25% while retaining the same dimensions. This lowers life cycle costs and reduces maintenance effort for end users. The manufacturer has simultaneously reduced the minimum length of the cylinder and minimized the required installation space by up to 22%. This allows design engineers to create even more compact solutions.

The ready-to-install EMC electromechanical cylinders consist of anodized aluminum -housings in ISO standard dimensions with integrated ball screw drives. Thanks to continuously optimized production processes, Rexroth has significantly increased the load ratings of the ball screw drive core component and thus raised the nominal life of the electromechanical cylinder by up to 25%. Design engineers now have the option to use a smaller size with the same load, which allows them to reduce costs. Rexroth validated the new values in comprehensive stress and life cycle tests under various conditions of use.

At the same time the specialist for linear motion technology has lowered the minimum stroke of the cylinder in all sizes by up to 50%. In the smallest variant the minimum stroke that can be ordered is only 30 mm. Thanks to the shorter strokes that can now be selected, the required assembly space is reduced by up to 22%.

The ready-to-install, complete systems minimize the design and installation effort. Design engineers can put together their customized EMC variants in just a few steps on the Bosch Rexroth website. After selection and dimensioning in the new LinSelect tool, users switch to the online CAD configurator which takes over the configuration data. Registered users can then see the delivery time and price of the selected variants in the Rexroth eShop.

Electromechanical cylinders combine the advantages of an actuator - with the possibilities provided by digital control of electrical drives. Users can optimally adjust the complete solution to a wide range of applications thanks to a complete - product family with high variability. The EMC family from Rexroth consists of seven finely scalable sizes. The largest variant, EMC100-XC-2, has thrust forces of up to 56 kN. All versions can be ordered with a force measuring sensor on the end of the piston rod as well as on the timing belt side drive.
