The perfect shaft around the clock

The online configurator for precision steel shafts of linear bushings reduces engineering using modern and intuitive user guidance with plausibility check.

Simple and comprehensive: The new online configurator for precision steel shafts of linear bushings saves valuable time in engineering.

  • Shafts made to measure: a wide range of variants, simple configuration
  • New: specific machining at the ends of the shaft
  • CAD models in various formats available immediately

Bosch Rexroth has once again expanded its series of new eTools for linear motion technology: The new online configurator for precision steel shafts of linear bushings intuitively guides design engineers and technicians through the design and ordering process with a continuous plausibility check. Both ends of the shaft can also be determined individually using simple parameterization during customized engineering. Even before pricing and placing orders in their shopping cart, the user already receives access to the 3D and 2D shaft data to integrate them into their CAD model.

In addition to solid and tubular shafts, shafts with support rail, which provide protection against deformation when transporting heavy loads over long distances, can now also be configured using the new linear motion technology eTool from Bosch Rexroth. Depending on the type of shaft, lengths range from 15 to 6,850 mm and diameters from 3 to 110 mm.

Using various machining methods, users can design the left and right ends of the shaft differently, e.g. with female and male threads, spigots or by annealing. Further machining options include widths across flats and surfaces in L or U form, grooves, countersinks and keyways. An automatic plausibility check prevents errors during the design phase and provides additional instructions.

With the new online configurator, Bosch Rexroth provides a completely digital ordering process – including pricing and the automatic generation of production orders and CAD data. At the end of the simple and quick configuration and ordering procedure, the user receives an order confirmation with a unique material number for solid and tubular shafts, which allows them to order the linear motion technology component again without having to repeat the configuration process. Furthermore, the user can immediately download 2D and 3D CAD data of the configured shaft for their model in various formats.

The new online configurator is available now in eight languages.

Rexroth takes users on a digital journey of Linear Motion Technology

Instead of the previously strictly separate work steps in the dimensioning, configuration, start-up, actual use and diagnosis of Linear Motion Systems, Bosch Rexroth shows with a trade fair exhibit as a study the advantages of a continuous digital journey through the entire life cycle. Here, software tools and all individual pieces of information accompany the components and systems of Linear Motion Technology. At the Automatica 2018 trade fair, Bosch Rexroth is using a multi-axis system with its own intelligence as an example to present the entire range of production-ready and close-to-production digital solutions with which design engineers and users can react to changing conditions more quickly and flexibly than ever before.
