First aid in case of machine downtime

An app for all installed Rexroth control systems

An app for all installed Rexroth control systems: the Digital Service Assistant helps reducing machine downtimes.

The Digital Service Assistant simplifies error diagnosis and provides fast service

By allowing wireless access to the error memory of all machines equipped with Rexroth control systems, the new Digital Service Assistant (DSA) app from Bosch Rexroth makes it easy for end users to obtain help whenever servicing is required. It clearly identifies components and allows spare parts to be ordered or repairs to be made out more quickly. As a modular building block, OEMs can fully integrate the app into their service concepts.

In reality, maintenance workers usually service machines that were made by various manufacturers during different production years. Each machine has its own user interface and diagnostic menus. Bosch Rexroth makes it easier to maintain such heterogeneous machinery thanks to the Digital Service Assistant. With this app for mobile devices, maintenance workers can wirelessly read error messages and service information for all installed Rexroth control systems. At the push of a button, they can contact local Bosch Rexroth service specialists and, if requested to do so, can forward all relevant information to them. As a result, they can solve complex problems quickly and reduce machine downtimes.

The app eliminates the need to do time-concerning research to identify defective components. Maintenance technicians simply bring up the electronic name plate for the components or scan a QR code or the individual serial number. They can then quickly request the relevant spare part while still at the machine or initiate a repair request.

The app is available at the German App Stores for smartphones and tablets, other countries will follow successively. After the installation, the users define in the PLCs of the machines which data may be read out. To ensure data security, the connection to the machine is encrypted and the app has no write rights.

Smart Item Picking: Automated order picking

With the Smart Item Picking solution, Bosch Rexroth is automating order picking tasks for a wide range of products – tasks which, in the past, could only be carried out manually. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the software recognizes the products which are to be picked without models or learning and plans collision-free removals. The articles are then placed in a target bin. No expert knowledge is required for object recognition. Unknown objects are picked up automatically. The solution increases productivity and significantly reduces error rates.
