Installation space-saving linear axes for a wide range of handling tasks

Additions to the range mean that Linear Modules can be used for mechanical engineering applications

New size 140 added to Rexroth linear module family

  • Integrated sensors for optimized installation space
  • Lubrication options for various areas of application
  • Fast product selection with LinSelect

The compact and ready-to-install MKK and MKR linear modules are now also available in the size 140. Featuring a sophisticated switching concept and an integrated measuring system, the new sizes also come readily prepared to be connected to central lubrication systems. The LinSelect engineering tool ensures that the linear modules can be selected and designed quickly and easily.

In addition to the frame sizes 40, 65, 80 and 110, Rexroth now also offers linear modules in the size 140, thus expanding its product range covering applications in the upper performance range. The linear modules with an anodized aluminum profile body and integrated ball rails are optionally available with either a ball screw assembly (MKK) or a toothed belt drive (MKR). As ready-to-install axes, the linear modules minimize the effort involved in terms of engineering and installation in machines and systems.

The toothed belt drive versions of the linear modules are available with a length of up to 9,800 mm and the ball screw assembly versions with a length of up to 5,400 mm. For lengths of 4,000 mm or more, a screw support prevents any vibration from occurring at high speeds, even in the case of vertical applications, and hence ensures that these axes can be used in a broader range of highly dynamic applications.

Comprehensive lubrication concept with central lubrication option

In order to automate maintenance work and increase the service life of the linear axes, they come readily prepared to be connected to central lubrication systems with liquid grease or oil. Rexroth delivers the standard version of the linear modules with initial lubrication so that they can be immediately put to work. However, the comprehensive lubrication concept also offers users the opportunity to use their own lubricants.

In applications with particularly high requirements in terms of corrosion resistance, the hard chrome plated ball screw assemblies, profiled rails and Resist NR runner blocks can permanently withstand water and aggressive chemicals. Stainless steel cover strips increase resistance to cooling lubricants, for example.

Optimized installation space thanks to integrated measuring system and sophisticated switching concept

The IMS-A absolute measuring system can be integrated into the sizes 80, 110 and 140. It works using the principle of non-contact measurement and is therefore not subject to wear and is resistant to contamination. As soon as it is switched on, IMS-A registers the absolute position of the axis with a high degree of precision and reports it to the control without a reference run. As such, repetition accuracy of ± 0.25 µm is achieved – a level of precision comparable to that of glass scales.

The magnetic field sensors as reference or end switches can be directly incorporated into the profile main body without any additional installation materials and without causing any interfering contours, enabling a space-saving design. The tried-and-tested switching concept also simplifies installation and saves time.

Just 5 clicks away from the perfect linear module – with LinSelect

Numerous engineering tools and configurators guide users reliably through the digital selection process and hence reduce the time to market.

The LinSelect tool simplifies and speeds up the selection and sizing of linear modules. The tool, which features a clear and intuitive interface, takes users through five steps in order to the best result. Once the right product has been selected, it can be finally assembled in the online configurator and users can then download the CAD files and order the desired configuration via the Rexroth e-shop.
