Smaller, more economical and easy to configure

Pneumatics Hannover Messe

The AV03 valve system is now available with the electrical connection AES.

Rexroth Pneumatics at the 2013 Hannover Messe

With innovations for online configuration, energy efficiency and miniaturization, Rexroth Pneumatics is presenting numerous innovations at the Hannover Messe. The AES electronic system for the new AV03 valve generation, for example, integrates seamlessly into different automation environments. New online tools enhance the service for customers for the configuration of pneumatics components: A calculation program shows the projected air consumption already during the design phase of the pneumatics circuit diagrams. Design engineers can thus increase energy efficiency during project planning without any additional expenditures. The new MSC mini slide expands the degree of freedom in custom configurations for a larger performance range.

The new AES control electronics for the AV03 valve system connects the pneumatics to all common industrial controls either via fieldbus or via ethernet protocols . Due to the diagonal arrangement, the AV03 series valve units, while providing full functionality, are only half the size and weigh less than half as compared to other standard commercial valves. This enables design engineers to place them close to the actuators, thus reducing air consumption of the pneumatics by up to 55 percent.

Fully revised online configurations simplify the selection and design of pneumatics solutions. The online portal for pneumatics comprises all necessary engineering tools from product selection to individual configuration of a pneumatics component to creation of a pneumatics circuit diagram according to DIN ISO 1219-2. For this, users do not need CAD licenses but can work with several models and work sheets free of charge. A special feature: Rexroth Pneumatics has integrated an air consumption calculator into the circuit diagram creation process, enabling users to already optimize energy efficiency during the concept development phase. Users can convert all work results into an eShop order with the click of a mouse.

On the actuator side, Rexroth Pneumatics is presenting another innovation with its new MSC mini slide. "Pneumatics users on the one hand want standardized components, yet on the other hand also the opportunity to be able to exactly adjust each performance feature to the individual application," says Dr. Alexander Lawrence, Vice President Sales Pneumatics of Bosch Rexroth AG, to summarize the market requirements. The new mini slide covers an even larger performance range than before. At the same time, it offers users additional options to configure the component for each individual task.

Bosch Rexroth had announced during the 2012 Hannover Messe that it wanted to transfer the pneumatics activities into a separate business unit. By 1 June 2013 this autonomy will be achieved. Rexroth Pneumatics will then operate as an autonomous company within Bosch Rexroth. This position offers Rexroth Pneumatics additional growth opportunities aside from Factory Automation.
