Youthful control unit for the venerable Vienna Burgtheater

With just a tap by the stage technician on the screen 28 meters above the stage, dozens of hydraulic jacks and cylinder drives come to life. Within seconds, they automatically raise and lower decorative pieces and transform the stage: With modern stage control, Rexroth brings the flies of the Vienna Burgtheater to the cutting edge of technology. The new SYB 3.0 stage coordination control system from Rexroth takes on the coordination of the hydraulic drives of the flies which are wear-free and were installed in the early 1990s. In addition to the innovative control concept based on multi-touch-enabled control panels, Rexroth pays special attention to the safety of the system: For example, the collision wizard software function warns the operator of potential collisions, just like a vehicle’s parking sensor does. Rexroth configures the hardware and software of the new control unit and takes over the complete installation and commissioning.
