Extended EHR23 valve family for double-acting electro-hydraulic hitch control for mid-range tractors

Manufacturers can now cost-effectively use the new variant of the EHR23-EHS1 valves on mid-range tractors from 120 to 230 HP.

Better tillage using standard tractors

Scientific studies reveal very clearly that uniform, careful tillage has a significant impact on harvests and the long-term fertility of agricultural soils. Double-acting electro-hydraulic hitch controls open up the possibility for farmers to put these findings into practice. Rexroth has extended the EHR23 hydraulic valve family for use on standard mid-range tractors.

Plows, cultivators, and harrows: When it comes to passive tilling implements, a uniform working depth is a vital factor affecting the success of the harvest. The double-acting electro-hydraulic hitch control system developed by Rexroth has already proved its success on top-range tractors. The hitch gear raises the attached implement if it digs too deep or hits an obstacle, but also presses it actively into the soil to achieve a constant working depth.

The heart of this control system is the EHR hydraulic valve family. The family combines electronics, pilot control valve, sensors, and software to produce a closed control loop which maintains the preset working depth automatically. Rexroth pioneered the invention of the electro-hydraulic hitch control more than 30 years ago and has continued its development ever since.

Manufacturers can now cost-effectively use the new variant of the EHR23-EHS1 valves on mid-range tractors from 120 to 230 HP. The new valve controls a flow of up to 100 l/min and its compact design allows it to fit in confined design envelopes. The electro-hydraulic pilot control enhances stability and smoothens out hitch movements. This improves tilling quality.

The electro-hydraulic hitch control also reduces slippage and significantly prevents the drive wheels from losing traction. This preserves the soil and reduces the risk of erosion. In addition, the control system enhances operator convenience since it finds control parameters automatically and lowering high loads is load-compensated. The Rexroth valve family also offers variants for single-acting electro-hydraulic hitch controls across the entire power range.
