Efficient compact power unit quickly installed

Autarkic hydraulics

Compact Power Unit series “MT”

The machine tool sector is an extremely price-sensitive market. Apart from pure acquisition cost of components and modules, what counts for machine builders is especially ease of installation and commissioning. On the other hand, end users attach increasing importance to improved energy efficiency. Rexroth meets these requirements with the new, ready-to-install compact power unit for machine tools. The autarkic module simplifies installation and commissioning, since piping to a central power unit is not necessary. In addition, the new module increases energy efficiency through the use of compact valves with low power losses, an accumulator charging circuit and low weight.

Clamping, gripping, lifting or swiveling workpieces: Hydraulics offers technical and economic benefits for numerous auxiliary movements. Rexroth makes these advantages even more apparent with the new, ready-to-install compact power unit for machine tools. The autarkic module consisting of pump, drive, control block, accumulator and filtration unit forms a complete decentralized hydraulic circuit and does without piping to a central power unit. This reduces the assembly effort significantly and simplifies commissioning, for merely an electrical connection must be established after the mechanical installation.

The compact power unit is suitable for decentralized installation directly at the consumer. The milled aluminum control block reduces the weight of the assembly. Consequently, the required input power is reduced, if the compact power unit is mounted on movable axes. In addition, cartridge valves with low internal power losses as well as the accumulator charging circuit increase energy efficiency.

The hydraulic control consists of screwed, freely configurable manifolds as well as cartridge and, on request, industrial valves. The compact power unit therefore realizes various pressure levels and functions such as clamping, gripping, indexing, lifting or transporting in a modular way. Rexroth delivers the compact power units, which are configured according to the individual machine requirements, also as ready-to-install unit just in time to the assembly lines.

The five most expensive savings ideas for the maintenance of machinery and equipment

Machine downtime is always expensive, especially if a whole production line comes to a standstill as a result. For new machinery, the machine manufacturer is still liable, but afterwards the responsibility for maintenance lies solely with the user. Maintenance staff must constantly justify their "unproductive" costs and, hence, try to reduce them. However, some short-term saving ideas lead to nothing but higher total costs in the end. The following are the five most expensive, and unfortunately, not uncommon errors when it comes to machine maintenance.

Everything you need, everything networked - the radically new hydraulic power unit for machine tools

The progress is demonstrated not least by the elegant form: The new small power unit CytroPac from Rexroth shows how small the installation space is that is required by modern hydraulic solutions. Rexroth integrates hydraulic components with a frequency converter, motor, pump and sensorics in one housing to form a cabinet-free power unit.
