    New drive concepts necessitate new cooling systems. In close cooperation with Bombardier Transportation, Rexroth has developed a particularly compact and energy-efficient cooling solution for the hydraulic motors and power inverter of the diesel-electric multi-engine locomotive Traxx P160 DE ME. Sensors and individually customized controls ensure the hydrostatic and electric fans provide the required cooling performance on demand. Following Rexroth’s 4EE approach (Rexroth for Energy Efficiency), the cooling system utilizes every possible avenue to save energy and make optimal use of resources.
