Seamless automation: Intelligent drive technology from Rexroth for LabVIEW applications

Do you use National Instruments LabVIEW for your measuring and testing machines? Then we've got good news for you: We can save you hours of time and trouble in the configuration, procurement, commissioning and programming of your drive technology.

In addition to LabVIEW's ability to access the IndraMotion MLC control functions via Open Core Engineering – a revolutionary concept first unveiled two years ago – the two companies are now unveiling a new solution that merges the measuring and testing technology with servo-drive technology: the IndraDrive Cs servo-drives can now be conveniently incorporated into LabVIEW and controlled using National Instruments’ CompactRIO as a master control system. The commissioning of the servo-drives is then carried out using the EasyWizard in just 3 minutes – it really couldn't be easier!

  • IndraDrive Cs kits

    Automate faster and more easily

    Compact RIO and IndraDrive Cs

    Working together, Bosch Rexroth and National Instruments have perfectly coordinated Labview and the IndraDrive Cs servo-drives, with CompactRIO as the master. Even better: We've put together complete drive packages for you. Simply connect the IndraDrive Cs via "CAN over EtherCat" (CoE), download and install the "SoftMotion Drive Interface" (SDI) plug-in directly from the LabVIEW development environment – and you're done! The motor data are automatically transferred to the drive control unit via plug-and-play.

    The commissioning of the IndraDrive Cs axes takes less than three minutes, after which you can start programming directly in LabVIEW. Simply specify the required torque in a range from 0.56 Nm to 19.8 Nm, and we will supply the appropriate kit. By the way: We can even supply customized drive solutions for torques up to 631 Nm – which can also be programmed directly in LabVIEW.

  • Convenient and secure

    Commissioning in only three minutes

    No more looking for motor data and manually typing it in: IndraDrive automatically recognizes the Rexroth motors via the electronic nameplate and automatically parameterizes the motor data and encoder data. For the initial commissioning of the IndraDrive Cs drives, all that's needed is to enter a few application-specific values – it takes no more than three minutes. Then transfer all the application-specific data by simply re-plugging the operating panel for convenient and secure serial commissioning.

    Use the IndraDrive Cs Safety on Board option. This simplifies standardized safety circuits by using certified safety functions. Choose the “safe torque off” (STO) and the “safe brake control” (SBC) options. These let the compact drives achieve Cat 4 PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 in accordance with EN 62061.

  • IndraMotion MLC for LabVIEW

    Motion sequences directly from LabVIEW

    Bosch Rexroth makes it easier to create complex multi-axis applications in LabVIEW with the IndraMotion MLC motion logic system. Here, the programming of movements is also performed solely via LabVIEW – without a single line of PLC code.

    All of this is enabled by Open Core Engineering. This award-winning solution makes it possible to seamlessly integrate all drive and control functionalities into the LabVIEW environment. This helps to increase the efficiency and accelerates the implementation of individually projected testing and measuring machines. A specific library, which can be imported into LabVIEW, enables engineers to directly access the control functionalities of IndraMotion MLC systems. It provides the LabVIEW programmer with more than 550 virtual instruments in his familiar software environment.
