Automation – fit for Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 is no longer a utopian vision. Bosch Rexroth is taking a leading role in putting Industry 4.0 concepts into practice.

This is not surprising, because Bosch Rexroth follows a dual strategy with Industry 4.0: We check out the potentials of Industry 4.0 step by step in our own factories. Our experiences are systematically used for the development of new products, system solutions and services in the fields of electrical drive & control systems, hydraulics as well as linear and assembly technologies.

With our Automation with Connected Intelligence, machine manufacturers can realize evolutionary and future-proof Industry 4.0 concepts and thus lay the foundations for the design of adaptive modules and machines with decentralized intelligence. In collaboration with well-established IT partners, we will demonstrate the homogenous integration of IT-based solutions in a broad range of various application scenarios.

    Fit for Industry 4.0 – Industry automation with integrated IT solutions

    IT providers specialized in various software applications and established in the market are currently using open core engineering with Bosch Rexroth to develop joint solutions for application scenarios within Industry 4.0. As a result, machinery construction opens up unknown opportunities to easily connect available IT-based tools and solutions with machine automation. At SPS IPC Drives 2015, the five partner companies Dassault, Eclipse, MathWorks, National Instruments, and Oracle, present their software solutions for integrated IT automation in connection with the Rexroth connected intelligence assembly kit.

     
  • Open Core Engineering

    Flexibility and efficiency newly defined

    Industry 4.0 requires consistently multilingual intelligent automation components and adaptive machines. The prevalent SPS languages are no longer sufficient. Open Core Engineering enables machine manufacturers to use a broad variety of IT and internet high-level languages for the creation of individual functions which can run simultaneously with the firmware on the controller or on external devices. In addition to the C languages of the Microsoft developing environment, LabVIEW and Linux, the interface technology Open Core Interface now also supports programming in Java and Lua. This is a precondition e. g. for the direct cross-linking with cloud-based services as well as with drive components.

    The new WebConnector brings together the formerly separate worlds of machine control and IT easier than ever before: web-based, scalable, modular, and completely independent thanks to HTML5 and Java technologies. Data networking made easy.

    The most flexible cabinet-free drive system

    IndraDrive Mi

    The new generation of IndraDrive Mi can be adapted to individual framework conditions like no other decentralized drive system. Maximum flexibility on a minimum of space: The drive is 100 % cabinet-free – the ideal solution for the use in all modularly designed machines. Up to 90 % less wiring effort and up to 100 % less demand for cooling.

    Improved automation performance and flexibility for Industry 4.0

    IndraMotion MLC

    Vertical and horizontal cross-linking requires high-performance equipment and enhanced intelligence for future-proof machine control systems to manage the increased volume of exchanged information and data. With the new IPC based control hardware, Rexroth has further enhanced the overall performance of the IndraMotion MLC control system. IndraMotion MLC combines the motion, robot, and logic controls with individual high-level language programming and thus opens up new possibilities for the engineering of comprehensive Industry 4.0 ready solutions.

     
  • IndraDrive ML

    The megawatt-strong universal inverters

    IndraDrive ML

    With the new IndraDrive ML, the IndraDrive family enters the upper performance range up to 500 kW (stand-alone solutions) and up to 4 MW (up to 8 devices connected in parallel). The space-saving and modular inverters are true all-rounders and can be deployed as mains inverters or motor inverters. This helps to minimize the number of variants and facilitates easy handling as well as reduced warehousing costs and energy consumption.

    The new generation of synchronous motors from Rexroth: intelligent, powerful, flexible

    IndraDyn S

    Intelligent solutions offering shorter cycle times and increased flexibility in Industry 4.0 environments: Rexroth fulfills these market demands with MS2N, the newly designed family of synchronous motors. It covers the maximum torque range from 4 Nm to 350 Nm with significantly increased power density and higher energy efficiency. Combined with IndraDrive controllers, MS2N motors become data sources for tasks in the networked factory. Thus, Rexroth opens up an entirely new range of possible applications and sets new standards in servo-drive technologies.
