RE: EAL with Python

Toggle
Hello,
from a customer in Canada I got following information:
--
I am trying to use Python with EAL, but I can not import the EAL.dll.
I am using Python 3.7 and I’ve copied the EAL.dll and SiP.dll from the EAL4DotNet folder into the DLLs folder from my Python installation (C:\Users\tag2atb\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37-32\DLLs).

Here are the first steps that I have successfully done so far:

C:\Users\tag2atb\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37-32> git clone https://github.com/pythonnet/pythonnet
Cloning into 'pythonnet'...
remote: Enumerating objects: 7730, done.
remote: Total 7730 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0), pack-reused 7730
Receiving objects: 100% (7730/7730), 6.87 MiB | 5.60 MiB/s, done.
Resolving deltas: 100% (5697/5697), done.

C:\Users\tag2atb\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37-32> pip list
Package Version
---------- -------
clr 1.0.3
pip 18.1
pyserial 3.4
pythonnet 2.4.0
setuptools 40.6.2
You are using pip version 18.1, however version 20.0.2 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the 'python -m pip install --upgrade pip' command.

C:\Users\tag2atb\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37-32> python
Python 3.7.2 (tags/v3.7.2:9a3ffc0492, Dec 23 2018, 22:20:52) on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import clr
>>> import EAL
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'EAL'

RE: EAL with Python
Answer
as a reply to Mike.
Hello,
please use latest EAL 2.2.0.0 (dated 14.02.2020)
There is a short documentation about first steps:
1) eal4DotNet --> doc --> pdf
2) eal4DotNet --> samples --> Python

Best regards,
Michael

Just for your information: I got following message:

I have uninstalled the 32bit Python and installed the 64bits version instead and now it is working perfectly.
My laptop is 64bit operating system.

Thanks for your help.
