Crossbar transfer presses/ Compact crossbar presses

Ford SLS Compact Crosspress

(Compact-) Crossbar transfer presses are designed for flexible large-scale series production. Every forming stage has its own transfer module, so that a phase-shifted motion sequence is possible. Unlike standard vacuum transfer presses, with the compact vacuum transfer presses the press intervals are markedly less, so that direct parts transport is possible without necessitating intermediate storage.


Requirements of components/systems:

  • Hydraulics for controlling assemblies such as e.g. clutches/brakes and die cushions
  • As a rule controlled axes in order to attain the required precision and speed
  • Simple standard power units for tensioning and clamping functions
  • High-dynamic and accurate servo motors for the press transfer
  • Pneumatic components for safe parts transport
  • Central press main drive via longitudinal shaft for all slides
  • Short tool change times thanks to swift adapting of the functions to the part being produced
  • Selectable motion sequences go easy on the mechanics – high dynamic or gentle movement depending on the part and the tool being used
