With its clever combination of augmented reality, sensors, software and production systems based on standardized Rexroth components, ARKITE's Operator Guidance Platform eliminates paper-based instructions and guides operators through complex assembly processes in real time. Deployed across more than a thousand applications worldwide, the platform delivers up to 90% reduction in manual errors as well as up to 80% reduction in rework and scrap, and it improves First Pass Yield and supports near-zero-defect quality. Operator training time drops by up to 50% across implementations. In the future, customers worldwide will be able to obtain the solution platform not only through ARKITE but also through Bosch Rexroth´s trained Certified Excellence partners.
With its Operator Guidance Platform, ARKITE, a Belgian software company, offers a modular software platform for intelligent operator guidance across manual assembly, picking, kitting, sub-assembly, and quality inspection, deployed in industries ranging from electronics to aerospace, life sciences, automotive, and packaging. The solution is available worldwide both directly through ARKITE and through Bosch Rexroth´s Certified Excellence partners. “Integrating our Operator Guidance Platform into Bosch Rexroth’s global partner network is a decisive step for us. It means manufacturers in any region can now access a proven guidance solution through partners who already know the factory landscape of their customers. The network is in place, now we scale,” summarizes Johan Smeyers, CEO of ARKITE.
Proven in more than a thousand applications, the Operator Guidance Platform replaces paper-based instructions and guides operators step by step in real time. The augmented reality instructions are displayed on a screen and projected directly onto the work surface. Operators can then focus entirely on their work steps without constantly looking at monitors.
Even in its “Guide” version, the software uses pick-to-projection technology to mark the picking container with the next component. In addition to purely manual tasks, the system also integrates equipment such as intelligent screw systems, press-fit stations, and collaborative robots into the workflow.
Integrated real-time quality control
In the extended “Validate” version, specific algorithms and a 3D sensor capture the execution of work steps in real time and immediately report deviations. Operators can correct errors early on. This improves First Pass Yield and supports near-zero-defect quality in manual processes. For particularly high-quality requirements, such as precision assembly, ARKITE Vision integrates high-definition vision sensors.
The work instructions are loaded into the stations without programming and cover a high degree of product variation. Open interfaces to higher-level systems simplify work planning and documentation for quality assurance.
Configurable production systems from Bosch Rexroth
ARKITE utilizes Bosch Rexroth's configurable modular system for workplace solutions. It comprises worldwide available standard components and integrates seamlessly into environments with stringent cleanliness requirements. The modular system covers the basic elements as well as all other components necessary for ergonomically optimized and fatigue-free work. ARKITE's Operator Guidance Platform with augmented reality is also suitable for retrofitting existing workstations and production lines.
