myBODAS allows digital collaboration when developing mobile machines

Bosch Rexroth makes software development easier thanks to a digital workspace with new support and community features

  • Time savings: Thanks to new methods of virtual collaboration
  • Try it First: Free access to proven software modules
  • Sharing knowledge: With product experts and between users

Bosch Rexroth is supporting the digital transformation of mobile machines with new forms of collaboration. With a view to speeding up software development for off-highway vehicles and making support easier, the company is expanding its myBODAS development platform with groundbreaking collaboration features to form an integrated digital workspace. In addition to a knowledge database and open access to validated software modules which can be modified free of charge, Bosch Rexroth is now providing community forums and group hubs too. In the virtual space, important development issues can be addressed quickly and transparently by those with the relevant qualifications.

The increasing amount of software in off-highway vehicles necessitates new forms of collaboration. With a combination of freely modifiable software modules and digital forms of collaboration, Bosch Rexroth provides a complete digital workspace for software development within the framework of myBODAS – one which saves time while reducing the costs and financial risks. myBODAS is part of the Bosch Rexroth Digital Application Solutions (BODAS) ecosystem for the digital transformation of mobile machines.

The new possibilities for digital collaboration and accessing information make the expanded myBODAS platform the central point of contact for the efficient development of machine functions based on openly accessible software modules for the BODAS portfolio. Registered members can now communicate via forums and group hubs, learn from each other, take part in discussions with the group of BODAS experts and share software modules which they have produced themselves or modified with their own customer group.

In addition to traditional support, myBODAS provides technical staff as well as software and IoT developers with a wide range of aids such as video tutorials, forum posts marked as "Accepted Solutions", FAQs and current product releases. These cover all aspects of BODAS, from typical BODAS hardware and software to BODAS Connect. Special inquiries are processed with the help of a ticket system.

In keeping with the open software principle, myBODAS offers simple, secure and free access to a digital working environment. In addition to existing web tools such as easyConfig, this includes the new community functions as well as a comprehensive knowledge database and the freely accessible library of BODAS Application Software (AS).

The validated software packages for the ASrun, ASopen and ASlib product lines can be freely modified. Licensing costs are only incurred for use in series production. These costs are conveniently billed via a credit model which is coupled e.g. to the BODAS Controllers from Bosch Rexroth.

With this Try it First approach, Bosch Rexroth ensures the protection of specific application knowledge, as the software modules can be modified or expanded independently, for example to include semi-finished products for travel drives or the interaction of travel and work functions. This way, manufacturers of any size can come to terms with increasing complexity in vehicle development more quickly and with reduced investment risks, compensate for a lack of know-how or resources and update or expand their offering more quickly.

New functions are being added to the myBODAS platform all the time. As a result, manufacturers of off-highway vehicles have permanent access to an up-to-date toolbox which enables them to develop software for a wide range of control tasks, automation solutions and assistance functions quickly and cost-effectively.
