Dr. Steffen Haack to become new CEO of Bosch Rexroth AG

Rolf Najork focuses on tasks in Bosch Board of Management

  • Haack has been with Bosch Rexroth since 2001
  • Najork had successfully transformed Bosch Rexroth since 2016
  • Board of management will be reduced to five members

As of August 1, 2022, Dr. Steffen Haack (56) will become CEO of the drive and control specialist Bosch Rexroth AG. Since January 1, 2021, he has been a member of the board of management with responsibility for development and the two business units of industrial hydraulics. Rolf Najork (60), who has been CEO of Bosch Rexroth since 2016, and, in addition to that function, member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH since January 2019, will concentrate on his role at Bosch.

Filiz Albrecht, managing director and labor director of Robert Bosch GmbH and chairwoman of the supervisory board of Bosch Rexroth AG, says: “I am convinced that under the leadership of Steffen Haack, Bosch Rexroth will excellently master the future challenges in the business areas of hydraulics and factory automation. Steffen Haack knows the customers and associates of Bosch Rexroth very well and is a recognized expert for customer-oriented innovation.”

Regarding Najork, Albrecht adds: “I would like to thank Rolf Najork for his leadership, with which he has shaped Bosch Rexroth into a very successful part of the Bosch Group since 2016. Together with the global team, he has sustainably increased the innovation power and competitiveness of our drive and control business and has created a strong culture of customer orientation, collaboration and performance, which distinguishes Bosch Rexroth. Bosch Rexroth is very well prepared for the future.” In addition to his role as CEO of Bosch Rexroth AG, which he has held since February 2016, Najork has also been a member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH since January 2019. During his time as CEO of Bosch Rexroth, Najork has comprehensively transformed the company.

Haack, who holds a doctorate degree in the field of fluid technology, began his career at Bosch in 1996. Since 2001, he has taken on various tasks at Bosch Rexroth, related both to factory automation and hydraulics. From 2015 to 2017, he had already been a member of the board of management. From 2017 to the end of 2021, Haack led the Industrial Hydraulics business unit and rejoined the board of management in January 2021. Since then, he has been responsible for the entire development activities of Bosch Rexroth and the New Business product area. In addition to his professional activities, Haack is chairman of the Fluid Power trade association within the VDMA (German Association of Mechanical and Plant Engineering) and a member of the advisory board of “Deutscher Maschinenbau-Gipfel”, the German Mechanical Engineering Summit.

As CEO, Haack will keep his current responsibilities for development and the New Business product area. From Najork, he will take over responsibility for the corporate department in charge of strategy, business development and benchmarking. The other four board members – Holger von Hebel, Thomas Donato, Reinhard Schäfer and Dr. Marc Wucherer – will retain their current responsibilities.

Looking at his new role, Haack comments: “I am looking forward to driving forward the dynamic development of Bosch Rexroth together with our global team: whether it is the continued development and sustainability of our products and solutions, strengthening global supply chains, the competitiveness of our company, or the further development of our strong culture.”

Most recently, Bosch Rexroth had further intensified the development of its product portfolio and its regional setup. Among other activities, Bosch Rexroth had announced the purchase of US-based hydraulics specialist HydraForce. In the financial year 2021, Bosch Rexroth achieved a record order intake of around 7.5 billion euros and reached the pre-crisis level again with sales of 6.2 billion euros. Bosch Rexroth is also currently anticipating growth in order intake and sales for the 2022 financial year. Bosch Rexroth has around 31,100 associates worldwide.
