Meet Xiangyun
our Supply Chain Coordinator
My name is Xiangyun Chen, you can also call me Vivian. I am 25 years old, I finished my bachelor in Logistics Management in China, and then I studied in Operation Management and Control and obtained my master’s degree in Stockholm University in the summer of 2024. I moved to Denmark in end of June 2024 and started working for Bosch Rexroth as Supply Chain Coordinator.
- How did your journey lead you to your current position in the company?
Before I moved to Stockholm, most of my education and working experience was based in Xiamen, China. With the recent high-speed developments in my city, imports and exports increased quickly. I worked as a purchaser and export trade coordinator for several different companies focusing on Machinery or Fabric. Those experiences helped me build up different perspectives in operation and coordination aspects.
In the summer of 2022, I moved to Stockholm and started a master’s programme. I am very thankful to this programme: it brought me not only theoretical knowledge, but also taught me advanced analysis techniques and soft skills.
From the summer of 2023, I started working as an intern in Bosch Rexroth Hägglunds in Sweden. This journey allowed me to obtain broad knowledge and a deep understanding of logistics, data analysis and supply chain management overview. I also received a lot of training and support from our colleagues for my master thesis, which was on generating the inventory forecast control model.
I believe the combination of my education in different countries and working experience will help me to deliver high quality contributions to our team in Denmark.
- Can you describe your role and responsibilities within the company? What do you enjoy most about your job?
I am responsible for purchasing to support our colleague to meet our customer’s demand. I also build up analysis reports, in an effort to increase transparency and support management decisions. I like the analysis part a lot: analyzing what happened in the past helps me to quickly adapt the organization, and proposing balanced solutions that will help us make changes in the future, step by step, makes me feel like I'm making a difference.
- How do you contribute to the success and growth of the company in your current position?
As an employee in a support role, I'm proud that we do our best to help our daily operation run smoothly. Our customers´ satisfaction is our obsession, and we aim to get orders delivered safely, quickly and cost-efficiently.
- Outside work, what are some of your passions or hobbies? How do you balance your personal interests with your professional life?
I really enjoy doing sports: I play padel on a weekly basis, and enjoy running, at least when the weather in Copenhagen is on my side. During the holidays I try to travel and see the world as much as I can. This also combines well with my photography hobby.
- Share a personal or professional achievement that you are particularly proud of
I was a professional table tennis player before I was 16 years old. This experience builds up my persisten and resilient spirit, that also contribute a lot when I am facing difficulties in life or work. I am proud that I have the mindset to overcome challenges and have the confidence that I can always make it in the end.
- How do you interact with customers or partners in your role? What do you find most rewarding about these interactions?
The nature of my role means that I usually work under time pressure: sometimes parts get delayed, but customers are in a rush, or orders must be cancelled due to different reasons or purchase orders must change to another vendor - but the customer still expects their products on time. This also means I must quickly work with my colleagues to find appropriate solutions. What really pulls me through this is knowing that I'm helping people fix problems and contribute to our operation on a day-to-day basis.
- Share a memorable experience where you were able to make a positive impact on a customer or partner
Once we had a customer that was really in rush to finish their production plan. They reached out to us to see if there was anything we could do to improve the delivery time for their materials. Luckily, we managed to arrange special transportation from the production plant, helping the customer.
- What do you value most about the company´s culture? How does the team collaborate to achieve common goals?
I like that there's plenty of room for questions and feedback in our organization. I can talk honestly to my manager, and I feel like we can make changes to our processes easily if necessary. This is only possible because my team operates with a high degree of flexibility and trust, allowing us to effortlessly support each other when challenges arise.
- Can you share a fun or memorable moment with your colleagues that reflects the camaraderie within the company?
At the yearly inventory counting in 2024, many colleagues from other departments supported us with the physical counting, even though it was outside their responsibilities. Still, they contributed without complaint. In the end, we achieved a great result. I truly appreciate our mindset of working as a team rather than as individuals - teamwork builds a better future.
