Bosch Rexroth presents holistic automation solutions for the packaging sector at FACHPACK 2024

High competitive pressure, the demand for more flexibility and sustainability among manufacturers and end users and the omnipresent shortage of skilled workers - the challenges in the packaging industry are manifold. They can only be mastered with holistic machine concepts and an increase in the level of automation. Bosch Rexroth offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the entire process chain - from packaging printing and processing to primary, secondary and end-of-line packaging to intralogistics, including warehousing.
Automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION: More openness and safety for packaging machines
With its flexible app architecture, the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION from Bosch Rexroth enables the simple integration of individual functions. Users can efficiently adapt automation processes to specific production requirements and react more quickly to future market changes. The consistent update and patch capability of the software increases security.
From its automation portfolio, Bosch Rexroth will be showcasing control cabinet-based and cabinet-free drives ctrlX DRIVE and two motion systems ctrlX FLOW at FACHPACK, as well as pre-configured solution packages for packaging machines.
VarioFlow belt conveyor: expanded system for film-packed consumer goods
The new VarioFlow belt conveyor was developed for the efficient and gentle transportation of packaged fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceutical and healthcare products. With its fine-meshed belt surface, it is also suitable for transporting unstable or bulk, film-packed products. The MTpro planning software enables even complex designs and system layouts to be created in a short space of time. Conveying lengths of up to 30 m, layouts with curves on both sides and conveying speeds of up to 40 m/min can be implemented with just one drive. The same system components are available as for the VarioFlow plus chain conveyor system.
The demand for automation in intralogistics is high: automated container warehouses have to cope with the high throughput in online retail, autonomous transport systems have to make the flow of goods more flexible, and efficient solutions are needed instead of high-maintenance pneumatics and for mixed palletizing. This is where Bosch Rexroth comes in with its comprehensive linear motion technology portfolio for intralogistics and offers components, modules and subsystems that can be used quickly.
Mobile Cobot Station: More flexibility in production and intralogistics
At FACHPACK, Bosch Rexroth will be demonstrating how companies can automate and flexibly handle production tasks in the future with a mobile cobot station. The solution developed by HELDELE Automation, Certified Excellence Partner of Bosch Rexroth and sales partner of Kassow Robots, utilises a 7-axis cobot KR810 from Kassow Robots and the control ctrlX CORE from Bosch Rexroth. It offers small and medium-sized enterprises a high degree of flexibility, as it can perform a wide variety of tasks at different locations in production. A key advantage of the solution: While the cobot installed on the mobile station carries out its work independently, the autonomous mobile robot ACTIVE Shuttle can take on other tasks in production and intralogistics.
