Rexroth ROKIT Locator – Your Easy-to-Use Laser Localization Software

The ROKIT Locator by Bosch Rexroth is a software component that reliably determines the position and orientation of a wide range of vehicle types like automated guided vehicles (AGV) and autonomous mobile robots (AMR) in a variety of changing environments. This is made possible by a high-performance algorithm that automatically detects and maps the natural environment using a laser sensor on the vehicle (natural navigation). Bosch Rexroth thus provides a key technology and resolves the challenge of localizing your mobile robots with maximum flexibility and usability.

Flexibility for all situations

Benefit from the effortless integration of the ROKIT Locator into a wide range of vehicle types as well as into numerous industries and application areas. Thanks to the modular approach, the localization software is hardware-independent.

Outstanding usability

Due to the fast and easy setup and reliable operation of the localization and mapping software, you do not have to worry about locating your mobile robots. The flexible adaptation to changing environments also enables automatic map updates for your entire fleet.

Explore the Features of the Rexroth ROKIT Locator

Introduction & use cases

Every first friday of the month we present you one of the features of our ROKIT Locators in detail. Let’s start with a short introduction video.

Express mapping – guided live mapping

No need for infrastructure adaptions or expert knowledge (based on SLAM – simultaneous localization and mapping) – our solution maps your environment with just one click. See in today's Feature Friday how easily our ROKIT Locator detects and maps natural environments.

Initial localization

Our ROKIT Locator is able to locate itself automatically after a change of position.

Robust and reliable localization

Our ROKIT Locator also works for example with vibrations, ramps or in dynamic, industrial environments.

Map update

The real-time location system automatically detects changes in the environment, continuously updates the digital map and shares it with the entire ROKIT Locator fleet.

Masking

The ROKIT Locator hides vehicle contours in sensor data.

Reference Alignment

Do you want to localize your manual forklifts or mobile robots in an existing coordinate system? No problem – our ROKIT Locator Map can be easily aligned to your existing coordinate system.

Manual map alignment

Adjust your digital warehouse map with offsets and rotations according to your individual needs.

Wheel odometry fusion

For even more robust real-time localization in special situations such as open spaces, additional sensor sources can optionally be integrated. So if required, the ROKIT Locator can merge the information from the captured laser data with the estimated vehicle movement from the wheel rotations.

Map expansion

Our real-time location system allows users to extend existing ROKIT Locator maps and replace map zones.

Dual Laser

Depending on the application and need, the ROKIT Locator can support up to two lasers. This enhances the robustness of your AGV.

Intuitive graphical user interface

The graphical user interface aXessor makes the real-time location system easy to use: one-click mapping, management and overview of the entire fleet, as well as gamification elements for optimized handling of complex use cases. See for yourself what our graphical user interface can do.

Rexroth ROKIT Locator.Box – Localization out of the box

Now you have the choice between the software-only solution ROKIT Locator or the ROKIT Locator.Box – ready to use on a compact industrial computer.

ROKIT Locator.Box: Software + Hardware

The ROKIT Locator.Box is made for a convenient and handy integration of our laser localization software, ROKIT Locator, in your mobile robots. It provides

  • the installed and licensed software ROKIT Locator,
  • a fully supported operating system as well as
  • an industrial-suited, very compact and robust high-performance computer (Pokini F2).
